Colourful Stoneware
About
Ongoing explorations in glaze chemistry has resulted in developing some truly unique signature studio glazes here at the pottery. Some of the current most popular signature studio glazes include:
Berries – A beautiful, deep glossy purple that creates some very interested effects when paired with other specific studio glazes. This glaze has evolved over a couple years from a deep wine to a slightly more blue-purple. The light it is in has an effect on how the colour presents! This glaze is often paired with a mossy green toned glaze (to create the popular Forest Berries collection), and is increasingly seen now paired with Tin White, and Sapphire.
Tin White – a brilliant, true white due to the high-end opacifier. This glaze compliments many of the studio glazes, often creating a reactive look when layered. It is a beloved pairing with the Titanium ” shimmer matte”, which, in combination is known as the Moonlight collection.
Sapphire – one of the newer glazes and still being explored with various applications and other glazes. This is a brilliant, opaque blue with quite subtle variegation.
Riverstone – a truly earthy, glossy glaze that shows a variation of browns to greys depending on thickness, texture, and clay body. Its name comes from the resemblance of water running over smooth stones.
What’s up Buttercup – a bright, cheerful, warm-toned yellow that has caught the eye of some yellow enthusiasts! A striking and character-filled surface that compliments blues, flowers, and happy vibes.
